G: GAPS Nutritional Consultation
Mealtime Management Consultation
GAPS Fussy Eaters:
“Oh no it’s feeding time”
Generally, when a child has managed to progress through the first few stages of the GAPS introduction stages, the fussy eating problem is transformed. When the body begins to absorb the nutrients something amazing happens. Children begin to desire the nourishing food they once rejected. Whilst all this sounds wonderful, what do we do to get them to take that first bite let alone getting them through the first few weeks of the GAPS introduction stage’s?
For more challenging eaters, Applied Behaviour Analysis Strategies will be required to achieve the desired outcome. This is not necessarily something you can buy but something the parent must be fully committed to implementing. This consultation option provides support to parents so that they are taught the necessary skills in applying the strategies at home. Data will be collected on the childs eating preferences and behaviours and an individual eating intervention plan will be provided. Support in applying the mealtime management strategies will be provided for two weeks as both the parent and the child adjusts to the changes.
